One heart, one mind

What amazes me about the UK election result is not that I thought Ed Milliband was unelectable, but that the Labour party in general didn’t see it. Perhaps this is the modern politics a la Blair, no debate, follow the party line ( I mean of course the spin doctors line) as though the whole of the party speak with one voice, one heart, one mind.  I suppose one day somebody will have the courage to say that “no we are not clones” but until then I don’t hold out much hope. Of course the opposite dynamic is found in Scotland where one heart, one voice one mind has taken over in the form of Nichola Sturgeon. With such a powerful and charismatic speaker why would anybody want to engage their own brain. Hers is clearly better. What a pity she wasn’t in the Labour party.
